  I am an experienced Simulation and Design Optimization Engineer working across industry domains to help enhance existing design processes based on simulation and data, and thereby help improve time to market and product performance at the same time. Growing up surrounded by machinery used in the manufacturing industry, I developed an early interest in engineering and building useful products for people. I was also fascinated with the world of aviation & space, reveling in reading design stories surrounding iconic machines like the Space Shuttle, the PSLV, SR-71 Blackbird and the Spitfire. With a passion for all things that fly, I pursued Aerospace Engineering along with a minor in Material Sciences at IIT Madras. Although this gave me a solid foundation in engineering analysis, I still didn't have the answers to how complex engineering decisions related to size, capacity and performance of products were made. That led me to pursue a Masters in Design Optimization and Aerospace Systems. At Purdue, I learnt about Design Theory and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) - this gave me insight into the collaborative engineering method and modern optimization techniques that helps minimize trial and error on the way to arriving at a great product. Upon graduation, I briefly worked on luxury yachts where I learnt about CAD design and homologation. I took all that knowledge and started helping design engineers across industries as part of my recent positions. Over time, I have seen the importance of processing available data using statistical and visual tools in order to aid in decision making. I also learnt that smartly using compute power available to us, goes a very long way in reaching product performance goals. I really enjoy the engineering design process starting from brainstorming of ideas and conceptual design, right up to detailed design and high fidelity analysis. In the past, I've been told that I put the success of my team first and I do not hesitate to get down to the nitty-gritty details of my work.
